Thursday, November 10, 2011
Despite recent disputes and tensions between the two neighbouring countries, the mobility of students studying in Malaysia and Indonesia are rising. Many Indonesian students comes to Malaysia to study IT, business or engineering while a great number of Malaysians cross over to study medicine and pharmaceutical courses in Indonesian universities said Prof. Rusdi, MA, Phd - Education Attache of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Kuala Lumpur (8/11/11).
Easyuni had to opportunity to meet with Prof. Rusdi in his office to discuss the current trend of student mobility and opportunities to study abroad for students from Malaysia and Indonesia. It is to our suprise that Malaysia has been the most favoured destinations for many Indonesians to study abroad.
Currently, there are about 14.000 Indonesian students studying in Malaysia. Most of these students comes from Padang, Riau, Medan and Pekan Baru in the Sumatera province of Indonesia which is geographically near to Malaysia mentioned Prof Rusdi who was formerly a lecturer in Andalas University, Padang.
Many Indonesian students comes to study IT, computing, multimedia and business studies in various public and private universities in Malaysia. There are many great universities such as Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), Asia Pacific UCTI and Multimedia University (MMU) which many Indonesian students obtain their undergraduate education. These universities are chosen due to their great reputation in IT and multimedia education.
Apart from that, Prof. Rusdi point out a few reason why Malaysia is an ideal education destination for Indonesian students; Malaysia has a good education system and quality assurance system of which is accepted world-wide, the tuition fee and living cost is relatively cheaper compare to other countries and students can obtain dual degree in Malaysia. Besides that, there are many similarities of foods, language and culture of the two nations of which made Indonesian students feel comfortable studying in Malaysia.
There are many benefits of studying abroad from learning to be independent, the exposure to the global knowledge and researches as well as the cross-cultural sharing between students from around the globe. Lack of information and access to the global universities has become a bottleneck and a show-stopper for many students to achieve their dream of studying abroad.
Henceforth, Prof Rusdi appreciates the effort made by www.easyuni.com to provide valuable information online and made the university application processes easy for students to study abroad. Easyuni is committed to empower more and more students to achieve their dreams to study abroad and continuously support the mobility of students in the regional and global arena.Posted at 2:11 PM Permalink ∞
